Friday
Late afternoon the famous Murray River paddlesteamer, P.S. Murray Princess departs historic Mannum,
birthplace of the Murray River trade and communication, and heads upriver while you enjoy pre-dinner drinks and a Welcome Dinner.
Sit back and enjoy your Murray River Cruise as your boat cruises under floodlight to your overnight mooring at Craignook.
From the paddle steamer you may see nocturnal wildlife on the Murray River bank, watch for grey kangaroos, hair-nosed wombats,
Murray River longnecked tortoises and spoon-beaked echidnas. Your resident on-board entertainer provides music for those
who enjoy the times of Murray River boat cruises.
Saturday
Set foot on the banks of the Murray River Australia after a hearty breakfast for a guided nature walk to discover the
local flora and fauna. Later, reboard your Murray River paddle wheeler and cruise upriver, past big river cliffs that
tower 90 metres over the P.S. Murray Princess and an ever-changing countryside. At the 207km mark the paddle boat will
turn and head downriver to Fromm’s Landing where you can join a discovery vessel for a Murray River backwater wildlife tour.
Travelling in small, personalised groups, you can explore the maze of backwaters, creeks and lagoons. The birdlife is amazing.
Watch for darters, herons and egrets feeding along the Murray River’s muddy edges. Back on board your river boat cruise,
the P.S. Murray Princess will cruise downstream past picturesque cliffs to Piggy Flat. After dinner enjoy the fun and excitement of the Murray River Cup.
Sunday
Bring your camera as it's time to leave the paddle boat again and go ashore to capture the Murray River's dawn light,
a special time on the river. After breakfast the boat will leave Piggy Flat for more Murray River cruising.
Enjoy a morning talk about the riverland's bountiful food and wine trail from the boats expert staff.
After lunch the paddle steamer will reach the Pomberuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Murray Bridge.
The Murray River has been a source of life for indigenous people of the riverland's, including Australia’s largest aboriginal community,
the Ngarrindjeri people. Come with a staff member to the information centre for a fascinating insight into these people.
Here, too, is a cottage industry hand-making chocolate using native fruits. Later that day the paddle wheeler will cruise to
Mundarra where you can join the Captain and officers for pre-dinner drinks followed by the Captain’s Dinner & Dance.
